Awards

The Friends of Historic Hopedale (FOHH) is offering up to two nonrenewable scholarships of $1,000 each for 2025.

Criteria

Scholarships are awarded based on the following: The FoHH will recognize graduates who have distinguished themselves through their community service activities.  The FoHH is specifically interested in candidates who have contributed to historical preservation efforts in Hopedale or volunteered with groups or organizations with that focus.  We will consider financial need as a contributing factor when selecting recipients from those applicants. 

Eligibility

Each scholarship is awarded to a community-oriented graduating senior of Hopedale High School or a Hopedale resident graduating from Blackstone Valley Technical School. • The applicant must be enrolling in any of the following institutions: 1. trade/technical/vocational school, 2. junior/community college, or 3. four-year college/university.

Additional Paperwork

The applicant must attach the following to his/her application: • Plans for post-secondary education • An entire complete FASA form. • A list of extracurricular activities (community service, athletics, clubs, employment, etc.) • A personal statement - no more than 500 words, typed and double-spaced (The FOHH will recognize graduates who have distinguished themselves through their community service activities focusing on those who have contributed to historical preservation efforts in Hopedale or volunteering with groups with that focus. Please tell the selection committee why you are a deserving candidate. You may also include other information that you want the selection committee to consider.)

Deadline

Friday, April 11, 2025 Submit the application and additional paperwork to the Friends of Historic Hopedale, P.O. Box 302, Hopedale, MA 01747. Applications postmarked after April 11th will not be considered.

Scholarship Payment

Assuming the recipient maintains at least a 2.5 GPA, the recipient should forward a first semester transcript from his/her post-secondary school by Feb. 6, 2026 to the Friends of Historic Hopedale, P.O. Box 302, Hopedale, MA 01747. A check in the amount awarded shall be forwarded within 15 days.
